Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin fired by the Miami Dolphins

Joe Philby was fired by Miami Dolphins after just one season in charge, the team announced Thursday.

The Dolphins announced the decision via Twitter:Joe Philbin will be the team’s head coach for the 2017 season.

— Miami Dolphins (@MiamiDolphins) November 25, 2018 Philby had led the Dolphins to a 13-2 record and an NFC South title during his two seasons in charge.

The 46-year-old Philby’s first NFL head coaching job was with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2002 to 2006, but he went on to win two Super Bowls and become the head coach of the New England Patriots.

Philby was not able to help the Dolphins finish the season with the AFC East title as he was fired with the team still searching for a new head coach.
